USS Scorpion SS-278 Base
January 17, 2026 Base meeting minutes

Members attending, and it was COLD, thanks to those that braved the storm!:
Ray & Pam Decker, Scott Kelly, Dan Anderson, Brian Schnurr, Ralph Andersh, Jerry Barnes, Nathan Kull, Scott Zobel & Kent Winter.

Gwen gave us another great meal!

Meeting started at 1210 with the reading of the Creed and Pledge of Allegiance.
The boat was ordered to Dive and Invocation was given. Introductions started with everyone giving the name/rate/qual date.
Special guest was Jonathan Theel, new SF Alliance Executive Director.

Tolling of the Boats was read and given to the Jan/Feb losses by Dan Anderson & Kent Winter.
We paused the meeting at this time to give our guest Jonathan Theel the floor to discuss our previous arrangement with the Alliance and what, where is his direction for the Alliance. John comes from the Coast Guard. John is willing to give us a display case/whatever regarding US Submarine Veterans Inc, the departed and local member's collection of submarine memorabilia. He also went into becoming an "Alli" where some active participation is required. John went into the future "plans" of the SF Alliance including the Museum in the old AAA building and the land next door at the former US Navy Reserve building.
We thanked him for coming to our bi-monthly meeting and expressed strong support for their organization! With that, John was excused so he could get on with his agenda and we re-started the meeting. John thanked us for the meal and bid adue.
